Ayer 12 y hasta el 21 de mayo se disputará en Moscú el segundo torneo del FIDE Worldchess Grand Prix.
El World Chess FIDE Grand Prix 2017 es una serie de cuatro torneos de ajedrez que se disputarán en Sharjah, Moscú, Ginebra y Palma de Mallorca, que forman parte del ciclo del Campeonato del Mundo. Los dos mejores clasificados tendrán plaza en el Torneo de Candidatos 2018.
El primer torneo del circuito del World Chess Grand Prix de la FIDE, con el nuevo formato suizo y 18 participantes, terminó con la victoria de Alexander Grischuk, Maxime Vachier-Lagrave y Shakhriyar Mamedyarov, todos ellos con 5,5/9 puntos. Grischuk tenía la mejor valoración de desempate. El español Paco Vallejo terminó 12º, sin conocer la derrota, ni la victoria.
Nuestro mejor jugador de la historia de España, jugó la primera ronda con negras ante Mamedyarov, con el cual firmó tablas, y sigue su particular racha de empates y sigue invicto en todo lo que va de circuito.
